Mushara Lodge

Located only 8 kilometres from the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern outskirts of the Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge is ideally situated for the independent travellers visiting the park. The lodge consists of ten spacious chalets, one family unit, two single rooms and a triple room.

The name Mushara derives from the Purple Pod Terminalia tree, which grows in the abundance in the lodge grounds and the surrounding area. The thatched public area consists of a small library with a selection of good books, a bar with an extensive wine cellar, airy lounge with welcoming fireplace for winter evenings, a dining area and a well-stocked curio shop. Great attention has been paid to the décor, which is elegant and fresh – a blend of traditional African and modern artworks combined with original paintings. One of Mushara’s prominent features is its large bright blue swimming pool, surrounded by green lawns which are kept perfectly manicured by visiting local wildlife.

The 10 chalets are extremely spacious and are equipped with a large bed (consisting of two single beds pushed together, which cannot be separated), air-conditioning as well as a fan, mosquito net, mini-bar, safe, tea and coffee station, direct telephone connection and ensuite bathrooms (shower). They can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. The single rooms possess the same amenities, but are located within the main building, and are equipped with only one bed. The triple room, also in the main building, consists of one double room and one single room sharing a bathroom. The family house is a set a bit aside and consists of 2 separate bedrooms with each its own bathroom, as well as a living room area.
